Im Zentrum dieser Webseite stehen die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Bestand sowie die Upcycling-Prozesse als soziale und kulturelle Weiterschichtungen eines Ortes.
Wir sind der Auffassung, dass Gebäude von menschlicher Interaktion geprägte Strukturen sind, welche durch das Handeln ihrer Nutzer*innen stark definiert werden.
Wir verstehen den Baubestand als Wissensspeicher und als Träger von Erinnerungen, Geschichten und Träumen.
Wir interpretieren das architektonische Upcycling als eine aktive baukulturelle Tätigkeit; ein Wahrnehmen, Umdenken, Verwenden, Verbinden und Aufwerten von Vorhandenem, um etwas Neues zu ermöglichen.

The center of this Website is the involvement with the existing, as well as the upcycling processes as social and cultural layers of a place.
We understand buildings and places as hybrid contexts shaped by human interactions, which are strongly defined by the actions of their users and their social and cultural stratifications.
We interpret the building stock as a store and inventory of knowledge and a palimpsest of memories, stories and dreams.
We claim for an architectural upcycling as an active building culture: a conscious rethinking, reusing, connecting and upgrading of the existing to make possible something new.

plus: mehr Geschichten, Erinnerungen, Substanz und Werte sind gegeben, mehr Sensibilität und Sorgfalt sind gefragt.
minus: weniger zusätzliche Materialien sind nötig, ein geringerer ökologischer Fußabdruck ist erzeugt.
